Win a chicken grill cooking contest!

Posted by youlki22 on February 1, 2008

“I am a chicken meal lover and being a female love to cook. Cooking Chinese food is my specialty but I prefer to prepare it, mixing with some Asian spices so it is not only spicy but very tasty. The same way my son likes to eat grilled and roast chicken, and he likes my preparation but sometimes he prefers to eat at grilled chicken restaurants. He says that food at home is good, but at some special places, like “El Pollo Loco”, it is really juicy and different in taste. I could not believe it until I heard that every piece of chicken served at El Pollo Loco is citrus-marinated and flame-grilled to perfection right before your eyes. At “wherestheflamegrill.com” they are offering a contest where you are asked to prepare a few chicken legs from fresh chicken indifferent ways (one must be fresh citrus-marinated and flame-grilled, like El Pollo Loco). Call someone who can taste food for you and ask them which piece of chicken they prefer. If it’s the flame-grilled piece, then it is clear that “El Pollo Loco” is really special in grilled flame chicken. El Pollo Loco! is offering you this contest to win the grand prize of $1,500 in cash, a portable Webber Grill, and $100 gift card. - You need to submit a funny or entertaining video showing why flame-grilling chicken is simply the best. - You must be a US resident, 18 years or older to enter. Think before you say

Posted by youlki22 on September 4, 2007

What we say or listen in the form of words have certain effects. Words have the power to transform the world. So this is a powerful weapon which is used very carelessly, as we don’t even think about after effects of what we are going to say or have told. It this tool is used in proper way, it can really change the world around us.

Some quotes about words:

** Words have a longer life than deeds”.
Helvetica” (522 BC - 443 BC) Greek lyric poet

** The language we use to communicate with one another is like a knife. In the hands of a careful and skilled surgeon, a knife can work to do great good. But in the hands of a careless or ignorant person, a knife can cause great harm.” Exactly as it is with our words.”
(Source Unknown)

** “Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are endless.” (Mother Theresa)

** .“By swallowing evil words unsaid, no one has ever harmed his stomach.”
(Sir Winston Churchill)

** ’Kind words can warm for three winters, while harsh words can chill even in the heat of summer.” (Chinese proverb)

** From the moment a child begins to speak, he is taught to respect the word; he is taught how to use the word and how not to use it. The word is all-powerful, because it can build a man up, but it can also tear him down.
That’s how powerful it is. So a child is taught to use words tenderly and never against anyone; a child is told never to take anyone’s name or reputation in vain.”
(Henry Old Coyote, Crow Tribe Author, excerpt from :”Respect for Life”)

** “Words, so innocent and powerless…when standing in a dictionary,
how potent for good or evil they become in the hands of one who knows how to combine them.”
 (Nathaniel Hawthorne (1804-1864) American Novelist)

** “Perhaps you will forget tomorrow the kind words you say today, but the recipient may cherish them for a lifetime.”
Dale Carnegie (1888-1955)
American Writer, Motivational Sales Trainer

** “Kindness in words creates confidence. Kindness in thinking creates profoundness. Kindness in giving creates love.”
Lao Tzu (600 BC) Chinese Philosopher, Father of Taoism

Recent research by a Japanese  researcher “Masaru Emoto”, shows very amazing facts about power of words. Here is the description of his research based study:

According to wikipedia
“Masaru Emoto is an author known for his controversial claim that if human thoughts are directed at water before it is frozen, images of the resulting water crystals will be beautiful or ugly depending upon whether the thoughts were positive or negative.

Emoto claims this can be achieved through prayer, music or by attaching written words to a container of water.

S1999 Emoto has published several volumes of a work titled Messages from Water, which contains photographs of water crystals next to essays and “words of intent”. Emoto claims to have sold 2 million copies of his books.

Our thoughts, words, and feelings affect so-called physical objects, right down to the molecular level. The pictures and discussion in this article represent the brilliant work of Japan’s Masaru Emoto. The photos have been published in a gorgeous book called “The Messages of Water”

Water from Fujiwara Dam

1- The photo on the left is of a frozen watersample from the lake at Fujiwara Dam, in Japan. As you can see, the water’s structure is dark and amorphous, with no crystalline formations.

prayer crystal

bg_prayercrystal.jpgince

2- After the above water sample had been taken, the Reverend Kato Hoki, chief priest of the Jyuhouin Temple, made a one-hour prayer practice beside the dam. After that, new water samples were taken, frozen and photographed. As you can see (at right), the change is stunning–the ugly blob of the former sample has become a clear, bright-white hexagonal crystal-within-a-crystal.

Fujiwara-after prayer

3-The third photo shown here, also of water taken from Fujiwara Dam after the prayer treatment, reveals a shape that had never, prior to that time, been seen by Masaru Emoto in his over 10,000 water-sample experiments. As you can see, it is a heptagon, or 7-sided crystal.

Rebecca at DolphinSwim tells us:

“Reverend Kato explained that during his hour-long prayer vigil he was invoking the spirits of the Seven Benzaiten: the Goddesses of Fortune. You’ll also notice that this photo displays the color gold, not white.”

distilled.jpg

4-At left, for comparison purposes, is a representative photograph of “untreated” distilled water. Different samples of distilled water showed different formations, but none were crystallized. Then this water was treated by taping words or people’s names to the bottles, playing music to them, or exposing them to floral essences. One interesting result was that there was a language difference.

For example, “Thank you” in English evoked different crystal formations than the same sentiment in Japanese. Here are some other effects that Emoto claims to have found in his research:

5-Water from clear mountain springs and streams has beautifully formed crystalline structures, while the crystals of polluted or stagnant water are deformed and distorted. Distilled water exposed to classical music takes delicate, symmetrical crystalline shapes.

thank_you.jpg

6-When the words “thank you” were taped to a bottle of distilled water, the frozen crystals had a similar shape to the crystals formed by water that had been exposed to Bach’s “Goldberg Variations” (see right) — music composed out of gratitude to the man it was named for.

When Elvis Presley’s “Heartbreak Hotel” was played to water, the resulting frozen crystals were split in two.

heavy_metal-1.jpg

When water samples are bombarded with heavy metal music or labeled with negative words, or when negative thoughts and emotions are focused intentionally upon them, the water does not form crystals at all and displays chaotic, fragmented structures.

chamomile.jpg

When water is treated with aromatic floral oils, the water crystals tend to mimic the shape of the original flower. In above picture, water crystals were exposed to aromatic essence of chamomile.

hitler-1.jpg

Of great interest for healing and just day-to-day well being is the extreme effect upon water crystals of negative words and ideas. When the words “Adolf Hitler” were taped to a bottle of distilled water, the results seen at left were obtained.

youfool.jpg

Here, you can see the results of taping the words “You Fool” to a container of distilled water. Interestingly, the pattern made by “You Fool” was almost identical to the pattern that emerged when heavy metal music was played. Masaru Emoto wonders in his book whether perhaps heavy metal musicians look upon people as fools.

Another instructive set of pictures showed the amazing difference between the crystalline patterns evoked by the words “Let’s do it” and the patterns produced by “Do it!” The “Let’s do it” crystals were like beautiful snowflakes. The “Do it!” water did not crystallize at all.

Sometimes, when we cannot see the immediate results of our prayers and affirmations, we think that we have failed. But, as we learn through Masaru Emoto’s amazing photographs, that thought of failure itself becomes represented in the physical objects that surround us. Now that we have seen this, perhaps we can begin to realize that even when immediate results are invisible to the unaided human eye, they are there.

When we love our own bodies, they respond. When we send our love to the Earth, she responds.

For our own bodies at birth are 70 percent water, and the percentage of water in our bodies remains high throughout life (depending upon weight and body type). Also, the earth’s surface is 70 percent water. And now we have seen before our eyes the proof that water is far from inanimate, but is actually alive and responsive to our every thought and emotion. Perhaps, having seen this, we can begin to really understand the awesome power that we possess, through choosing our thoughts and intentions, to heal ourselves and the earth. If only we believe.

2-Conscious water

Every sound we utter sends out an energy wave that aids in creating our world. With every sentence we speak we are improving or destroying our health, relationships, finances, etc.

The most powerful example I’ve ever heard was a story told to me directly by the woman who had the experience. This woman had developed an incurable disease of the eyes. She was quickly going blind. Her physicians said there was NOTHING they could do. Being very determined and not liking what she heard, she turned to alternative therapies for a possible cure - something she never would have done had she not been in this desperate situation. A friend recommended she see someone that did crystal healing. She thought that sounded ridiculous but decided to give it a try. During her appointment, the crystal healing therapist asked her to describe herself, her life, etc. and she let her talk for about 10 minutes. Suddenly, the therapist stopped her and said “Did you know that in the last 10 minutes you said the words ‘I hate to see’ 15 times?” The woman was shocked. She used the words “I hate to see” before many things. “I hate to see the way the world is going.” “I hate to see how they are treating the children in schools.” On and on she made reference to “I hate to see” this or that. This was literally an eye opening experience. She switched her words and now years later has perfect vision.

How Many Words Do We Use That Destroy Our Desires?

NEVER NEVER NEVER say “I’m Sorry.” Two of the most powerful words in the English language are the words I AM. These words tell every part of you - your personality, your subconscious, your ego, your spirit - who you are. They define WHO YOU ARE. Be very careful what you place behind those words. When you say “I’m sorry,” you are saying that WHO YOU ARE is a sorry individual.

Replace the words “I’m sorry” with “I apologize.” Anyone who eliminates the words “I’m sorry” from their vocabulary will increase their self esteem almost immediately! The same goes for “I’m
sick.” “I’m tired.” “I’m stupid.” - you get the idea. Replace those with “I feel ___” and eliminate the stupid comment altogether.

So What Does This Have To Do With Goal Achievement?

Another very important aspect of conscious language is the LAW OF FOCUS. Whatever we place our attention on is what we create. It’s important to focus on the positive thing we desire rather than the negative thing we want to avoid. For example, never focus on NOT AGING. Focusing on not aging ensures that you will age and quickly. Instead focus on being healthy, vibrant, and youthful.

An interesting and often overlooked part of all this is the need to avoid words that are negating a negative. What the heck do I mean by that? A word like LIMITLESS is actually drawing the subconscious mind to focus on LIMITS. This is NOT what we want. So saying something like LIMITLESS ABUNDANCE is placing limits on the abundance.

An example from my own life is the word EFFORTLESS. In the past when I made affirmations, I would typically end them with the words “easy, effortless, and fun.” An example might be “Having a wonderful relationship is easy, effortless, and fun.” This was actually drawing EFFORT into my life. Since I have eliminated that word and now only use “easy and fun” EVERYTHING has shifted. We sold our house in 2 weeks because it was “easy and fun.” - and there was no EFFORT involved. Doug’s immigration process to the U.S. was taken care of in less than 2 months. There are many, many other examples of how this has made things move very quickly and easily for us.

Review your own affirmations and the words you say out loud or just to yourself and see how POSITIVE you are actually being. It does make a difference!”

And few more words at the end:

Be careful of your thoughts,

for your thoughts become your words.

Be careful of your words,

for your words become your actions.

Be careful of your actions,

for your actions become your habits.

Be careful of your habits,

for your habits become your character.

Be careful of your character,

for your character becomes your destiny.

Are you happy with your life?

Posted by youlki22 on August 21, 2007

A very common question, but answer is not simple, as among all humans, it is difficult to find a person who could say that he/she is happy with the life. Most of the times, life seems a combination of sorrows and happiness. Sometimes life looks as it is full of joy and other moment, there is only darkness around us. Well, bright or dark side are both part of life, but the real meaning of life would be clear when we learn that life is a precious thing and we should accept it and live it, as our creator want us to lead it. That way we can get the real happiness, whatever the situation we are in.

I love reading parables, because there is a lesson every time you can learn and implement it on your life. The parable I am quoting here is like an all time lesson for me, because I have read it many times, and found it very encouraging at the down times of my life. I want to share it with all, with this hope that it would be learning for you also.

I should admit that there was a time, I was not happy with my life, and many times I asked from myself or from God, why I am here or why it is happening to me?. I can say for sure that most of us do the same at down times. But the reality is that we cannot change what we have, to accept it as it is and be happy in it is the real meaning of life.

Read it and think!

                       Terribly Tragically Sad Man
(A modern parable by Loren Seibold)

Once there was a boy who lived in a big house on a hill. He loved dogs and horses, sports cars and music. He climbed trees and went swimming, played football and admired pretty girls. Except for having to tidy up after himself, he had a nice life. One day the boy said to God, “I’ve been thinking, and I know what I want to become when I become a man.
“What?” said God.

“I want to live in a big house with a veranda across the front and two St. Bernard dogs and a garden out back. I want to marry a woman who is tall and very beautiful and kind, who has long, black, hair and blue eyes, who plays the guitar and sings in a clear, high voice. I want three strong sons to play ball with. When they grow up, one will be a great scientist, one will be a politician and the youngest will be a professional athlete.

“I want to be an adventurer who sails vast oceans and climbs tall mountains and rescues people. And I want to drive a red Ferrari and never have to tidy up after myself.”

“That sounds like a nice dream,” said God. “I want you to be happy.”

One day, playing ball, the boy hurt his knee. After that he couldn’t climb tall mountains or even tall trees, much less sail vast oceans. So he studied marketing and started a medical-supplies business.

He married a girl who was very beautiful and very kind and who had long, black hair. But she was short, not tall, and had brown eyes, not blue. She couldn’t play the guitar, or even sing. But she prepared wonderful meals seasoned with rare Chinese spices and painted magnificent pictures of birds.

Because of his business, he lives in a city near the top of a tall apartment building that overlooked the blue ocean and the city’s twinkling lights. He didn’t have room for two St. Bernards, but he had a fluffy cat.

He had three daughters, all very beautiful. The youngest, who was in a wheelchair was the loveliest. The three daughters loved their father very much. They didn’t play ball with him, but sometimes they went to the park and tossed a Frisbee - except for the youngest, who sat under a tree strumming her guitar and singing lovely, haunting songs.

He made enough money to live comfortably but he didn’t drive a red Ferrari. Sometimes he had to pick up things and put them away - even things that didn’t belong to him. After all, he had three daughters.

Then one morning, the man awoke and remembered his dream. “I am very sad,” he said to his best friend.

“Why?” asked his friend.

“Because I once dreamed of marrying a tall woman, with black hair and blue eyes who would play the guitar and sing. My wife can’t play the guitar or sing. She has brown eyes, and she’s not tall.”

“Your wife is very beautiful and very kind, “said his friend. “She creates splendid pictures and delectable food.” But the man wasn’t listening.

“I am very sad,” the man confessed to his wife one day. “Why?” asked his wife. “Because I once dreamed of living in a big house with a veranda, and of having two saint Bernards and a garden out back. Instead I live in an apartment in a high rise building.”

“Our apartment is comfortable and we can see the ocean from our couch,” said his wife. “We have love, laughter and paintings of birds and a fluffy cat-not to mention three beautiful children.” But the man wasn’t listening.

“I am very sad,” the man said to his therapist. “Why?” asked the therapist. “Because I once dreamed that I would grow up to be a great adventurer. Instead, I am a bald businessman with a bad knee.”

“The medical supplies you sell save many lives,” said the therapist. But the man wasn’t listening. So his therapist charged him $110 and sent him home.

“I am very sad,” the man said to his accountant. “Why?” asked the accountant. “Because I once dreamed of driving a red Ferrari, and never having to tidy up myself. Instead, I take public transportation and sometimes I still have to clean up.”

“You wear good suits. You eat at fine restaurants, and you’ve toured ,”said his accountant. But the man wasn’t listening. His accountant charged him $100 anyway. He was dreaming of a red Ferrari himself” I am very sad,” the man said to his clergyman. “Why?” asked the clergyman. “Because I once dreamed of having three sons: a great scientist, a politician and a professional athlete. Instead, I have three daughters and the youngest can’t even walk.”
“But your daughters are beautiful and intelligent” said the clergyman. “They love you very much, and they’ve all done well. One is a nurse, another is an artist and the youngest teaches music to children.

But the man wasn’t listening. He was so sad that he became very sick. He lay in a white hospital room surrounded by nurses in white uniforms. Tubes and wires connected his body to blinking machines that he had once sold to the hospital
He was terribly, tragically sad. His family, friends and clergyman gathered around his bed. They were all deeply sad too. Only his therapist and his accountant remained happy

THEN ONE NIGHT, when everyone except the nurses had gone home, the man said to God, “Remember when I was a boy and I told you all the things I wanted” It was a lonely dream,” said the God.
Why didn’t you give me those things?” asked the man ” I could have,” said God. “But I wanted to surprise you with things you didn’t dream of.” I suppose you’ve noticed what I ‘ve given you: a kind, beautiful wife; a good business; a nice place to live; three lovely daughters – one of the best package I ‘ve put together – “yes, “ interrupted the man. “Bur I thought you are going to give me what I really wanted “And I thought you were going to give me what I really wanted, “said the God “What did you want?” asked the man.
It had never occurred to him that God was in want of anything. I wanted to make you happy with what I’d given you, “said the God

THE MAN LAY IN THE DARK all night, thinking. Finally he decided to dream a new dream, one he wished he’d dream years before. He decided to dream that what he wanted most were the things he already had. And the man got well and lived happily in the high rise, enjoying his children’s beautiful voices, his wife’s deep brown eyes and her glorious paintings of birds. And at night he gazed at the ocean and contentedly watched the lights of the city twinkling on, one by one!
