Interesting site: “Blifaloo”

Posted by youlki22 on September 29, 2007

I liked the site and blog, because the topics discussed were interesting. I could not find specifically what is the link between different topics, until I saw “about” page. I hope that you would enjoy the site or blog. Let’s see what the site owner is saying:

Name of the owner: Toni Allen.
History to the Bifaloo:
Once upon a time I was a freelance designer and aspiring web marketer… I created 100’s of commercial websites for clients, and ran a few e-commerce sites of my own. Blifaloo was created as a place where I could escape from the commercial BS I was immersed in, and share my hobbies, interests and doodles (and also a place to play arcade games without pop-up ads getting in the way).

I only shared the URL with a few friends, and never tried to promote this site with link exchanges, directory submissions, SEO or any of the other methods I implemented in all websites I created previously.
Blifaloo’s traffic magically soared, and was even featured on the BBC’s international TV show “Click Online”.

Fast forward to now: Blifaloo.com receives almost 10,000 visitors a day, and has become my main project. I quit my job & freelancing to work on improving this site.
The future of Blifaloo: Whatever I’m interested in at the moment, is what you see and will see added to this site. “

More at “about” page.

The site: Bifaloo.com
The blog: Bifaloo blog

Review of a thoughtful blog “Just a thought”

Posted by youlki22 on July 13, 2007

I like reading blogs about thoughts, life, inspiration, motivation, and Just a thought is one of those blogs where you would like to stay to learn and think.
Blogger: David Woon

Desription of the site: “The blog contains my short reflections about Life in general which I hope would, in one way or another, serve as a source of inspiration for you or trigger off some thoughts of your own in the contemplation of the mystery that is Life. And I hope you would also share these thoughts here so that we can all learn and grow together as we strive to leave this world a better place than what it was before our humble existence.”

I am quoting here one of his posts about “Little things, big effects”. I like this post because it seems to me that in our daily life, we do many little things but never think about the big after effects. So this post might help you as well, as it is a reminder to think about these little matters.

A paragraph from the post:

“Indeed, very often, it is the little things that resulted in BIG EFFECTS because we grossly underestimate them and let our guard down against them.

Here’re some other examples:

Time: We lose much valuable time by watching short TV shows, taking short naps, playing computer games for a short while…
Character: We mold our character with all the little thoughts we think throughout the day…
Relationships: We build/destroy relationships with all the little thoughtful/thoughtless things we do/say…”

Link: Little things-Big effects

This is only one post, there are a lot of post, worth of reading, learning and thinking.

Goog work David!

Food for thought-seeds of wisdom

Posted by youlki22 on July 7, 2007

I believe that good thoughts or wise words are food for your mind if you are a thinker, and like to read and think. I took this piece of wisdom from one of the blogs of Radenko Fanuka. I could not get much about him, except that he is a retired businessman and writer.

His blog is a poetic, thoughtful and philosophical type. I am quoting a part of his posting from his blog:

Radenko Fanuka

“I am presently introducing nineteen of my SEEDS to you, and since I found them to be with me daily, causing a profound effect on my life, I named them, FOOD FOR THOUGHT – MY SEEDS of WISDOM. With God’s help, and perhaps yours as well, they will be compiled into a book and published. That would truly be an answer to my long awaited prayer.

*****
For me, there is no better or healthier form of entertainment than the power of THINKING

*****
Father almighty, what cannot be the truth?

*****
2006’s life, health and its future days will ask us, NOT where were we, but WHERE ARE WE GOING

*****
Health must daily enter through the kitchen doorstep.

*****
Education that lacks nature’s interference is the same as the child who has no parents.

*****
No matter what it is that we are learning, we DO learn, and WE WILL make use of it.

*****
If we were to conduct a study and have expectations of its positive, beneficial results, then we must rely on NATURE’S BALANCE as our stepping stone.

*****
If GOD doesn’t exist, IF doesn’t exist.

*****
What could happen to this world, if LIE did not exist? It will not happen!

*****
I love to be criticized. That’s the time when I see you clearly, without my glasses.

*****
“Money talks.” That’s very true. If you cannot talk, money has to talk for you.

*****
Please help the lazy people. DON’T help them!

*****
If you buy LOVE and WORDS, you shouldn’t claim them for yourself. Rightfully, they can’t be yours.

*****
We can love one another, but we will not succeed to protect ourselves from each other.
*****
If you can have it, WHO told you that I CANNOT!

*****
No one will be able to fight off what the bare eyes are unable to see, but from the inevitable worst that will occur, nature will reap its benefits.

*****
I believe that the odor of some herbs contains the natural power to destroy the enjoyment of some insects (without destroying any life) and, therefore, promotes the health of all living things on this earth.

*****
World, how can one tell you, so that you may understand?

Spread smiles in the world by small act of kindness!

Posted by youlki22 on July 6, 2007

I believe that doing good, brings good and spreading the smile in the world is a contagious act, which would bring hapiness as a result.

Help Others is an ad free, non profit organization, spreading smile all over the world.

Site was started in January 2004, and it is still running by some dedicated volunteers.

Site Offers: Weekly kindness newsletters, ship smile cards all over the world, and this is all free of cost. Moreover, downloading, printing or re-publishing of anything from the site is totally free.

How poeple contribute?

Some people order free cards to do kind acts, some share creative ideas of compassion, some contribute stories of inspiration, some sponosor cards for others, and kindness keeps spreading.

How you can participate?

To participate do something kind in your community.

*Join smile groups and make it a weekly habit.

*Comment on the many stories to encourage the carriers of kindness.

For more details:
Contact

Story behind creation of the site!
In their own words: ““One college student was talking to another slightly older twenty-something guy about pranks that students do for rival football teams. The older guy says, “Isn’t it interesting that students are motivated to do such incredible acts without getting any credit?” Such acts are fun, collective, creative, and incredibly challenging. But typically, they’re not all that constructive nor do they leave anyone with a lasting “wow” feeling either. So the question followed — why not do the same with kind acts? More friends joined in the conversation. Right then, we thought up a game of doing anonymous act of kindness and leaving behind a “smile card” to keep the chain going. Over the next three months, we tested out the concept. And then, we setup this anonymous website and got started.”

“Kindness is contagious! Keep it going”

A blog telling blogger stories!

Posted by youlki22 on June 7, 2007

This is a blog telling stories about bloggers, how the blogspere has touched people’s lives and opening the door to vew way of relationships and opportunities.

At the site, there is an alphabetically arranged list, and it is also catagorized ie: “Authors who blog, Blogger turned Author, Stories from business bloggers, stories from personal bloggers and bloggers from different countries. So there is a lot to search or read about bloggers.

Who is bebind it?
Name: Toby Bloomberg. Author of a marketing/business blog

Let’s see what she says about ” Blogger Stories

“For me the heart of the blogosphere is two-fold. It is the people behind millions of posts created every day. It is also the people who read those posts. Along the way of writing and reading blogs something interesting often happens. Lives are touched. Sometimes lives are changed. The influence of blogs can be major .. a new career, a support system, a friendship. Or minor .. an idea, a giggle, a recipe.

Those influences .. great and small .. make up the stories that are the soul of the blogoshere. I wanted to create a space to tell those stories. To capture how a funny named technology called “a blog” has made a difference.”

You can also participate there by submitting your story.
E-mail: bloggerstories at yahoo dot com,
with:
1- blog and url (if appropriate)
2- your name (first is okay)
3- if your story is personal or business related
4- your bloggy story please limit to 500 words or less

My comments: To learn and have a personal interaction with other bloggers is a unique idea and I like this blog. There is a lot to learn because when I started blogging, I could do it only because I read a lot of blogs due to the learning and reading, I can proudly myself a blogger.

So go ahead, submit your story and share it with all!
